Major W. Burrell

Pastor Major W. Burrell is the esteemed pastor/teacher of
the Peace Missionary Baptist Church (Pratt City)
Birmingham, Alabama. Moreover, he is a gifted teacher,
preacher and administrator with the God given ability to
exegete and isogete sacred scripture.
An honor graduate of Alabama State University,
Montgomery, Alabama, 1979, where he majored in
elementary education and minored in special education he
demonstrated a zeal for education. In 1982, he received
a Master's of Divinity degree from the
Interdenominational Theological Center (Morehouse
School of Religion), Atlanta, Georgia. In December 2005,
he received certification in Education Administration from
Alabama State University. Further studies have been
done at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and
Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey.
Currently, Pastor Burrell is employed by the Perry County
Board of Education as a special education-consultative
instructor. Furthermore, he's a part-time professor for
the Birmingham Theological Seminary where he teaches
Systematic Theology.
Recognizing the magnitude of needs throughout the city
of Birmingham, Pastor Burrell has extended to the
creation of a non-profit community development
corporation. Under his leadership a board of directors
has been established and various ministries addressing
the socio-economic needs of the community have been
put on the table.
A true servant of God, he has served as pastor of the
Peace Missionary Baptist Church since 1985.
